The mystery surrounding Kanye West's Donda Academy has been detailed in a new lawsuit.

West presented his latest venture - a private Christian school - years after he first revealed his plans to create it under the name Yeezy Christian Academy. He soon decided to name his private school after his late mother, Professor Donda West.

Its website says the "Jesus Is King" rapper's school was made to "prepare students to become the next generation of leaders" through an ethic of integrity and care. However, things seemingly happened - and still happening - the wrong way.

Kanye West's Donda Academy Named in New Lawsuit

In the court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, three teachers of Donda Academy detailed the school's chaotic environment, including health and safety violations and bullying.

The filing came months after an investigation in 2022 found that the yet-to-be-accredited institution's principal and executive director has no experience as educators and that the families whose children were enrolled in the school needed to sign non-disclosure agreements.

The lawsuit cited Timanii Meeks, Cecilia Hailey, and Chekarey Byers as plaintiffs. The two latter teachers said they were unfairly fired in March for reporting code violations; the former, who joined the case on June 1, revealed a similar experience and said she was fired in January for reporting assault and bullying incidents on the campus.

All of the three teachers said they suffered racial discrimination and received paychecks less than what Donda Academy owed them.

"All three were given the same retaliatory and unlawful treatment merely for trying to stand up for the students' rights to a meaningful education," the trio's representative Ron Zambrano said. "Donda and Ye now have an established pattern of retaliation, from two independent sources, to contend with."

Donda Academy's Dark Side

The same lawsuit, shared by the news outlet, cited more concerning issues happening inside the academy.

According to the plaintiffs, the school does not have medical staff and janitorial services to assist the students. Staff members were also tasked to clean with acid water and microfiber cloths due to the rapper's disapproval of using cleaning products with chemicals.

Everyone in the academy also had to consume the same lunch every day, and the students could not bring anything else except water. The lawsuit said West spends $10,000 a week on sushi alone.

West is yet to respond to the lawsuit, but it became an addition to the unresolved cases he still has as of press time.
