Decades after its release, there is still much to learn and know about one of Queen's most iconic releases "Bohemian Rhapsody."

According to recent reports, there is a new revelation regarding the song, which was found in one of Freddie Mercury's personal notes.

The song, which is now famously titled "Bohemian Rhapsody" was initially titled "Mongolian Rhapsody."

The late singer's notes are part of a new exhibition in Sotheby's Auction House in London, which showcases Mercury's personal notes, which include several drafted lyrics.

True to his jet-setter lifestyle as a touring performer, the draft lyrics for the song were written on stationery from the U.K. airline called British Midland Airways-which has long since been closed down.

'Mongolian Rhapsody'

Like most songwriters' process with writing music, Mercury's draft is a far cry from the lyrics fans would sing and scream during concerts and even sometimes during casual listening.

The draft lyrics go: "Mama, There's a war began, I've got to leave tonight" while the current and final version of the song starts with "Mama, I just killed a man."

Mercury's notes are almost illegible, but some eagle-eyed fans and spectators of the exhibit noticed at the top part of the stationery, the late singer crossed out Mongolian and replaced it with Bohemian instead.

"The collection takes you deeper within the individual and the man I knew," said Mary Austin, a friend of Mercury who also happens to own the items in the exhibit. "You're looking at the process of the artist, of work in progress."

'Bohemian Rhapsody'

According to reports, "Bohemian Rhapsody' was recorded a year after the draft was written in 1974.

The song is one of Queen's most popular releases to date. It has been sold and streamed more than 10 million times in the United States, with global streams going upwards of 4 billion on Spotify and YouTube.

The draft is but one of many included in the collection which amounts to about 1,500 pieces of Mercury's belongings.

Other songs found in the collection are "Don't Stop Me Now," "Somebody to Love," and "We Are the Champions."

In total, all the items are expected to garner around $995,000 to $1.5 million. The auction will commence in September.
