It's been more than half a year since the world was shocked over the sudden death of Takeoff and today, his mother is filing a lawsuit against the venue where he passed away.

According to Billboard, the rapper's mom, Titiana Davenport, filed the lawsuit earlier this week. Aside from the Texas bowling alley's owners, she also included several LLCs connected to the establishment.

The lawsuit states that the defendants failed to provide extra security for the "after hours" event by the family of J. Prince despite the venue knowing that there are potential attendees who are public figures like athletes and artists.

"Defendants breached their duty owed to Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball by failing to exercise ordinary care to keep the premises safe," the lawsuit reads.

Takeoff's Mom Seeking $1 Million in Damages

In addition, the musician's mom is also pointing out the venue's negligence as they didn't provide "screening mechanisms" and other security measures since the event took place "after hours" or around the early hours of November 1, 2022.

As a result of the alleged negligence, the Migos member, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball, sustained injuries, pain, suffering, and "experienced mental anguish" before his death as he was aware that he was going to pass away after being shot.

As of this writing, the venue where Takeoff was shot, 810 Billiards & Bowling in Texas, and other partners named in the suit like Midway Companies and Lionstone Partners, have not publicly commented on the matter.
