Throughout the years, there have been speculations that one of the Haim sisters, Este, had been "pretending" to play the bass. More recently, the sibling trio finally addressed the claims and called out those who have been making stories about them.

According to NME, the group took the stage of the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City. A video was shared by the outlet on their official Instagram account and there were commenters who claimed that "the bassist is just acting."

The group didn't hold back with their sentiments as they commented on the user, saying, "Lol, I can't believe this s*** is still happening."

Haim Speaks Out After One Fan Claimed Este Was Pretending to Play the Bass

The band did not stop there as they took the issue to their Instagram stories by sharing a screenshot of the post with the comment.

In the caption, the band wrote, "I'm so used to seeing this shit on every fucking video of us playing ever... Don't ever say we don't play our own f****** instruments."

As of this writing, the original commenter has yet to respond to Haim's call out.

This isn't the first time Haim opened up about an issue regarding their careers as they spoke out about sexism in the music industry.

In an interview with Elle UK, one of the members, Alana, said there were a lot of people who told them they were "never going to make it" so they should give up.

However, instead of listening to the negative reactions about them, the trio sisters strived and made a name for themselves and started performing at festivals and even their own concerts.

"Being told you'll never sell out a venue, then you do. You'll never headline a festival, and then we do. It fuels the fire," Alana added.
