Ever since "The Hunger Games "Hunger Games" prequel "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" trailer was released, fans of the famous book franchise have been constantly thinking of artists who could be a perfect fit to be part of the said soundtrack.

In the past movies of the franchise, several songs in the soundtrack were popularized on social media, including "Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars, "We Remain" by Christina Aguilera and even "Yellow Flicker Beat" by Lorde.

"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" Soundtrack

According to a Deadline report, a major recording artist is due to come on board for the "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" first single.

So far, the internet has theorized on who could possibly be that major recording artist they were talking about:

Nicki Minaj

In the past few months, The Pop Tingz, a popular pop culture account on Twitter, has been saying that Nicki Minaj has been rumored to appear in the said highly-anticipated movie.

While getting Minaj on a soundtrack would result in high support from her loyal fandom, many seemed to not see how a Nicki Minaj track would fit the post-apocalyptic Panem. Perhaps her quirky outfits in her debut era would make sense, but her playful and fiery persona wouldn't actually click.

But hey, what can't the Queen of Rap do nowadays? Minaj was recently tapped for the "Barbie" soundtrack too.

Lana Del Rey

The Pop Tingz also theorized that Lana Del Rey might be another pressing artist to be present on the "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" soundtrack and that first single. Per her fans, the alternative queen is a perfect fit for the eerieness, the vibe of the movie, and the possible soundtrack it would create.

Lana Del Rey and soundtracks had been a good combination in the past. In 2014, she recorded "Once Upon a Dream" for Maleficent and "Big Eyes," which earned her a Golden Globe Nomination. She also released "Young and Beautiful for "The Greats Gatsby" and a mega collaboration with Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande on "Don't Call Me Angel" for the "Charlie's Angels" remake in 2019.

Lorde

Lorde and "The Hunger Games" already have a history. In 2014, the Grammy-winning singer personally curated the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" soundtrack, which included her Golden Globe-nominated song "Yellow Flicker Beat."

Most recently, Lorde was spotted in the recording studio. The occurrence of the photo and the announcement seemed to be very suggestive, but we can't know for sure until the final news hit.

Who do you think will be the major recording artists singing on "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" new song?
