Doja Cat Reveals New Single 'Balut' After Rapper 'Fumbles' With 'Attention'

Doja Cat is entering a new era in her music career, and she is making sure that everything is authentic to her true self.

After the rapper/singer contemplated for months on how she will reinvent and reintroduce herself to her fans, Doja Cat unveiled her first single, "Attention."

"'Attention' is not really a song. It's more of, like, a piece, it's a message," Doja Cat explained. "It's not really supposed to be replayed. I thought it would be a nice way to start off the whole rollout with."

The song was met with mixed reviews. Some absolutely enjoyed it, with some fan commending the "Say So" hitmaker's songwriting prowess, while others thought she fumbled and the song is a flop.

However, Doja Cat is determined to block out the haters and focus only on her fans and her flourishing music career.

"But the album is fun. I have a lot of different sounds on this album," she continued.

Shortly after the release of "Attention," Doja Cat is already gearing up for a new music drop, it is a song called "Balut."

On the other hand, following the announcement of "Balut," netizens flocked to social media to talk about it.

"'My song flopped so I'm scrapping the lead single & starting all over again'," one wrote, mocking the rapper/singer's decision to release new music so quickly.

"Ate air and the plate still full," another added, commenting about "Attention."

"She sounds like Eminem old McDonald had a farm, this is what she reminded me of."

According to reports, "Balut" was unveiled through Instagram Livestream, and Doja Cat also played a short snippet of the song, making sure that fans would definitely be hyped for its release.

Doja Cat New Album

While not much has been revealed about Doja Cat's upcoming album, many fans theorize that it might be titled "Scarlet," after the singer tweeted the word several times late last month.

However, even the singer/rapper is not sure what her album should be named.

She has openly talked about how she renamed it a couple of times before she finally settled on one.

"Its not called hEllMoUth either its called 'First of All' and yes I'm announcing the album title right now," she wrote on Twitter.

It seems like her fans would simply just have to wait and see until the highly anticipated album gets released.
