Friends and family of Madonna have serious concerns that her recent attempt to keep up with younger stars such as Taylor Swift and Pink has landed her in an ICU hospitalization.

Despite her advanced age, the 64-year-old icon had been straining every muscle for her upcoming "Celebration" tour when she suddenly collapsed and needed to be put on a ventilator for several days, according to sources close to her.

Time was reportedly running out and Madonna had put everything she had into this tour, which was supposed to start on July 15.

That's what a source close to her revealed to The Sun. Despite working extra hard, those around her have been cautioning her to take it easy as she isn't as young as she used to be - no longer 45 or even 25!

For both the "Lavender Haze" singer and Pink, their latest tours have attracted lots of attention, no doubt due to their breathtaking showmanship.

Taylor has been performing for hours on end while Pink amazes fans with her daring aerial stunts.

However, one thing is clear, according to the source: That an overly ambitious drive could lead to dangerous outcomes. As such, it was important for the singers to ensure they didn't overexert themselves, especially for somebody like the "Material Girl" singer.

As Madonna prepared for her upcoming world tour, the source said she pushed herself through rigorous preparations and rehearsals that placed an immense strain on her body.

Friends and family around her noticed the toll this was taking, worrying it could prove fatal like Michael Jackson's death before his "This Is It" tour in 2009.

A close friend of the material girl told The Sun, "Madonna was in a lively mood just before the incident, but some well-meaning acquaintances had urged her to slow down and find time to relax due to her tight upcoming schedule."

"We all know that she has been receiving remarks about her age which have caused stress, so we are grateful that this mishap has inspired her to take a break and prioritize her health."

The concern was palpable - whispers of another Michael Jackson situation, should Madonna not take a step back to slow down. Despite such worries being held privately, everyone could tell something like this was coming from the hectic pace she kept up with, per the insider.

As one source confided, only a few were brave enough to voice their apprehension about Madonna's lifestyle.

A day before her health crisis, a confidant explained how Madonna had been putting everything into her upcoming 84-date tour.

She was reportedly pushing herself to keep up with her much younger dancers, dedicating 12-hour days at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

Last Saturday, Madonna was sadly found unresponsive just hours after working in a studio with Katy Perry where she had been preparing for her tour.

Following her hospitalization and diagnosis of a "serious bacterial infection", doctors were dismayed to learn that this had grown from a month-long fever which she had not reported despite having pushed herself strenuously while rehearsing.

As a result, it was decided that her tour must be put on hold.
