Nelly has a prized discography that any budding rapper right now could very well aspire in years. The Grammy-winning rapper is not just only any basic rapper out there, he was even referred to as one of the biggest stars of the new millennium.

In 2014, the Recording Industry Association of America ranked Nelly the fourth-best-selling rap artist in American music history, which makes his music catalog very promising for anyone who would show great interest.

Nelly Sold Music Catalog For $50 Million

According to an Entertainment Tonight source, Nelly has sold half of his music catalog for a whopping amount of $50 million.

The purchaser? The outlet revealed that it was HarbourView Equity Partners, a self-described "global investment firm focused on niche markets and esoteric investment opportunities.

Rolling Stone reported that Inc. Magazine recognized the company's CEO Sherrese Clark Soares on its coveted "Female Founders 200" for successfully acquiring huge music deals from Justin Bieber, Florida Georgia Line, and even Nicki Minaj.

It was also reported that the deal included "select recorded assets" from Nelly's award-winning discography. This encompasses his iconic songs like "Dilemma," "Hot in Here," and "Ride Wit Me," among many others.

Nelly's first five albums, all debuted within the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 charts. His albums "Country Grammar," "Nellyville," and "Suit" all launched atop the charts while "Sweat" and "Brass Knuckles" opened to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

His three most recent albums did not perform more commercially well than their predecessors. "5.0" debuted at No. 10, "M.O." launched at No. 14, while "Heartland" opened at No. 45.

Nelly New Album 2023

However, despite Nelly selling half of his catalog, he isn't slowing down anytime soon. Apparently, he is also returning to the studio to continue making country music albums. (via Entertainment Tonight)

After "Heartland," his first country album, Nelly is back with "Heartland 2" as he continues down the country music path.

He credits MoShine, his most recent creative breakthrough, having inspired him to take this rather unusual path of blending hip-hop and country.

"Heartland" featured a packed collaboration with other country music artists. These artists include "Darius Rucker, George Birge, Jimmie Allen, Kane Brown, Florida Georgia Line, Breland, Blanco Brown, Chris Bandi, and City Spud.

The album birthed his tripe-platinum record "Lil Bit" which was generally praised by many to be something that is very fitting on Nelly's catalog.
