Marina Diamandis, known mononymously as Marina, has been entertaining fans for more than a decade now, but little did her supporters know that she had been struggling with her health for the past seven years. More recently, the singer revealed that she got diagnosed with a medical condition.

Taking to her official Instagram account, the "Primadonna Girl" songstress revealed that she got diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Sharing her symptoms, Marina said she had been feeling deep fatigue, low appetite, numbness, brain fog, rashes, tingling, and many more. There was also a point where she felt being "poisoned" for so long and it's been hard for her to remember the feeling of being healthy.

"Aside from a few periods of remission, the last 7 years have consisted of relying on adrenaline and will power to push me through each day," she added.

Marina Diamandis Shares Recovery Period

Later in her post, the musician noted that her recovery period started two months ago after she had an "unusually bad flare up."

At that moment, the singer felt "shooting pains and burning sensations" all over her hands, legs, and back. Marina then opted to see countless doctors until she found a medicine practitioner who determined the cause of her pain.

The songstress, previously known as Marina and the Diamonds, said she finally understood where her symptoms came from after reading a lot of books and most of the pain she felt was due to a "hypersensitive nervous system" caused by chronic stress.

Fortunately for the musician, it appears that she's on the road to recovery as she told her followers that she's feeling better today than she had in a long time.

Regarding her energy levels, she measured her energy at around 60 to 70% depending on some days. (via Billboard)

"Healing is demanding a lot of my energy and attention right now, but the better I feel, the sooner I can get back to my creative life again," she added.

At the end of her post, Marina noted that she's grateful for the lessons she learned from experience and she knows that it's going to change her life for the better.

In addition, she also "cultivated a deeper empathy" for many people who silently live with chronic illnesses.
