According to AP News, Tony Benett's death was reported by his publicist Sylvia Weiner to the outlet. Based on the report, Tony Benett died in New York.

Tony Bennett Cause of Death Revealed

As of this writing, Tony Bennett's cause of death has not yet been revealed but it could be largely attributed to his Alzheimer's Disease diagnosis in 2016.

In 2021, it was revealed in an AARP Magazine report that Bennett had been diagnosed with the debilitating sickness since 2016. However, this did not stop Bennett from performing and recording music in 2020.

Turns out, his weekly singing practices have kept his brain stimulated and active. More so, his touring, despite his old age, has "kept him on his toes and also stimulated his brain in a significant way," his neurologist claims.

However, in the years leading to the article's publication, Tony Bennett's Alzheimer's has seen a decline.

Tony Bennett Music Career 2018-2021

Before Tony Bennett's death, he had recorded his last album, "Love For Sale," with Lady Gaga. The album has reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200. It also topped the No. 1 of the Top Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums.

The album won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical in 2022, bringing Bennett's total Grammy Win to 18, with 36 nominations.

In 2006, Tony Bennett spoke to The Associated Press, confessing how music is also a therapy for him.

"I enjoy entertaining the audience, making them forget their problems," he shared. "I think people ... are touched if they hear something that's sincere and honest and maybe has a little sense of humor. ... I just like to make people feel good when I perform."

Tony Bennett's death was mourned by many, especially on social media. People, including musicians, in general, have credited him for exposing the world to The Great American Songbook.

"I've loved Tony Bennett for all my life. I was privileged to spend a good half hour chatting with him after an outdoor concert. He stayed backstage to speak with EVERYONE, and my late husband and I were among the last. He was so kind, gracious, funny, and charming," a fan shared.

"What a legend! My father went to school with him in the Bronx, said he knew his younger brother more since Tony was a year older than my dad. Benedetto they called him. R. I. P. Tony," another posted.
