Selena Gomez Bio 

Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas to parents, Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Gomez. Selena was named after Latin Tejano singer, Selena, who passed away in 1995, as per Imdb. Selena has mixed ethnicities of Italian and Mexican. She has two half siblings named Gracie Teefey and Victoria Gomez. 

How Selena Gomez Started Her Music and Acting Career 

Gomez's first role in acting was the character, Gianna, in the 1990's children's TV show, "Barney and Friends" (2002), and starred alongside Demi Lovato in this show in 2002-2004. Selena finally moved to Los Angeles when she landed the role lead of Alex Russo in the Disney channel television series called "Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007). In 2009, Selena co-starred again with her good friend, Demi Lovato, in the TV movie, "Princess Protection Program." 

During the latter part of 2009, Selena began to embark on a career in music. Selena was part of a band called, "Selena Gomez & the Scene" at that time she started to pursue a budding career in the music business. Selena and her band's self-titled debut album reached the number nine spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Selena released two more albums with her band not too long afterwards. In 2013, Selena released her debut solo album called, "Stars Dance." The single off this album, "Come & Get It" climbed to the top ten spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 

Selena Gomez Hits, Accomplishments, Major Projects, and Accolades 

The other notable projects of the "A Year Without Rain" singer were films titled,"Monte Carlo" (2011), "Spring Breakers" (2012), "Rudderless" (2014), and "Behaving Badly" (2014). In 2015, Selena released her second album as a soloist, "Revival." "Revival" debuted at number one in the Billboard 200. Gomez's third solo album, "Rare" was released three years ago. 

Selena has an American Music Award accolade for favorite female artist, pop/rock won in 2016. She is also a winner of the MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop Video in 2013. 

Selena Gomez Dons on a New Look for a New Beginning 

In time for the frenzied moment spurred by the release of "Barbie: The Movie," and may be in timing for her birthday, Selena Gomez recently dons on blonde colored hair, instead of her signature dark hair color, as per a report from Vogue.
