After eight years of marriage, Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson are headed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Although there are not a lot of information known about what was really going on behind the scenes between the former couple, it seems like the split was a long-time coming, and well-planned.

According to People Magazine, the court documents had several notes that go along with Knowles and Lawson's divorce, such as the termination of the court's ability to award spousal support to either one of them.

Additionally, Knowles also filed that her name be legally changed back to Celestine Knowles, her name prior to her marriage with the actor, after changing her name to Celestine Lawson after they tied the knot.

This will be the designer's second marriage and divorce, after her split from Mathew Knowles, the father and former manager of Beyonce and Solange.

Tina Knowles, Richard Lawson's Divorce a Long-Time Coming?

According to the Daily Mail UK, fans have suspected that Knowles and Lawson's relationship has not been great in the past couple of years.

Fans noted Knowles' absence during the premiere of Lawson's recent movie "Black Terror," as well as several other events like his appearance at the Essence Festival and Cannes Film Festival.

Tina Knowles Suffers Another Heartbreak

Knowles exchanged vows with Lawson back in 2015, after two years of dating, and four years after divorcing Mathew in 2011.

Her marriage to Mathew lasted over three decades before they decided to call it quits and moved on with their lives, with new partners.

It was reported that Knowles' first divorce was amicable, unlike what the rumors initially said during that time: "The decision to end our marriage is an amicable one. We remain friends, parents and business partners."

While the world simply know the former couple as Beyonce and Solange's parents, they also happen to be the secret behind their massive success.

Mathew had a hand in forming Destiny's Child, which led to massive success and popularity for all its members, but most especially his daughter, Beyonce.

He was the group's manager from the moment they were formed, rose to the top with their hits "Survivor" and "Say My Name," as well as their eventual disbandment in 2006.

Knowles, on the other hand, does not meddle with her daughters ' careers right now, but she stays relatively close to them.
