It was a sad day on Wednesday with the passing of Sinead O'Connor.

At the age of 56, her friends had feared for a long time that she would face a similar fate to that of her idol Prince. Unfortunately, the cause of death has yet to be made known.

Years of mental health struggles could not be put aside when, in January 2022, tragedy struck Sinead O'Connor's family; her son Shane tragically took his own life at just 17 years old.

A source revealed in 2018 that "Sinead is mentally ill, and her family knows that." Everyone had their prayers out hoping for a turnaround.

The tragic death of songwriter, producer, and singer Prince from an overdose of counterfeit Vicodin containing fentanyl sent shockwaves through the community.

Several years ago, it became apparent that the Irish singer was in the depths of her depression after a heartbreaking Facebook rant taped at an unkempt New Jersey hotel room. In the video, Sinnead confessed to being heavily reliant on prescription drugs to cope with her emotional distress, during which tears streamed down her face.

"I'm all by myself and there's absolutely nobody in my life except... my psychiatrist... and that's the only thing keeping me alive at the moment."

The worrying similarities between Sinead O'Connor and Prince's lifestyles were a cause for alarm, according to an insider who spoke to Radar Online.

After the tragedy of losing custody of Shane in 2017, it's said that a cloud of darkness descended upon the life of Sinnead.

Sources report two disappearances during those days lasting up to several days each time.

"People close to her are deeply concerned for her wellbeing," stated one insider. "It would be horrible to have another tragic death on our hands."

Later, she made public her tremendous heartache over Shane's demise.

"Like, how has a seventeen-year-old traumatized young person WHO WAS ON SUICIDE WATCH in Tallaght Hospital's Lynn Ward been able to go missing???" O'Connor posted online after her son's disappearance.

Sinead later confirmed her teenage son had "decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God."
