Madonna faced a health scare a few weeks ago after she suffered a bacterial infection and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

The 64-year-old singer is back on her feet and is healthy again. She took time to express her gratitude towards her family and friends on Instagram with a lengthy post.

"Love from family and friends is the best Medicine," Madonna began. "One month out of the hospital and I can reflect."

The "Like a Virgin" singer had been so busy preparing for her "Celebration" tour that she reportedly neglected to take care of her health.

The "Celebration" tour was supposed to kick off on July 15, but was pushed back to accommodate to the singer's recovery, and was rescheduled to start on Oct. 14.

On top of being one of the busiest artists these days, Madonna also wrote about motherhood and her children.

"As a mother, you can really get caught up in the needs of your children and the seemingly endless giving," she wrote. "But when the chips were down, my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference."

Madonna Celebrates Life

What spurred Madonna's Instagram post about celebrating her life and feeling lucky to have survived her serious illness was her children's and friends' heartfelt gifts and support.

"I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive," Madonna wrote, giving special thanks to her manager Guy Oseary for giving her a gift.

"And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone. And thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me stay to finish doing my work!"

Madonna Shares Recovery Journey

According to reports, aside from thanking the closest people to her, Madonna also thanked her fans for constantly wishing her well and supporting her music.

On the anniversary of her debut album "Madonna," she shared a video of herself dancing and captioned it: "To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!"

"Thank you to all of my fans and friends! You must be my lucky stars too! And Happy 40th Birthday to my very first album."
