David LeCours was going through a tough period in his life and he found an outlet in music by Britney Spears. LeCours was empowered to come out of the closet and he wanted to share this special moment with the woman who helped him through.
On his instagram, LeCours explained why he decided to write Spears.
The letter explained how she helped me get through a real tough period in my life these past couple of months, and I wanted to end it all but she made me strong.
Last Tuesday (August 21) at Spears' "Piece of Me" residency shows at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, LeCours was able to meet his idol, and unbeknownst to him, the pop star would take the time out to respond to his letter.
As reported by MTV, LeCours said as he was leaving the building where the meet and greet was held, Britney's body guard ran and stopped him and said Britney requested his address.
I was so happy to receive your letter. I was very happy to hear about how courageous you've been about being openly gay. I've always been told as long as you know in your heart that's what matters most. I try to follow my heart and reams everyday of my life and I think that's why I am where I am today. It means so much to me to have a fan like you who takes the time to sit and write me such a touching letter. Your letter was both touching and sincere. I wish you nothing but the best in the future and hope you keep smiling.
LeCours shared a photo of the letter on his Instagram. What a nice gesture. Kudos to Britney Spears.
