Rita Ora Wedding and Husband: Did The Singer Really Propose To Taika Waititi?

In a unique turn of events, Taika Waititi was on the receiving end when it came to him and Rita Ora's proposal.

The details were released in their joint interview for a feature on their 2022 wedding which was published in Vogue.

The acclaimed director beamed as he recounted the touching moment when Rita asked him to marry her - an event that occurred during their romantic trip to Palm Springs. Instantly, he said yes without hesitation.

"She proposed to me and I said yes instantly."

On August 4th, 2022, a special event took place at the home of the "For You" singer and the "Jojo Rabbit" filmmaker in Los Angeles - an intimate wedding ceremony.

Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't held in either London or France; they chose to keep the gathering small with only their closest friends.

As Rita Ora expressed, "It was at our home!"

Rita and Taika joyously recalled their special day as husband and wife. They told the magazine that only eight people were present--their closest friends, family members, and even parents who joined in on Zoom.

At the last minute, Jemaine Clement flew in from New Zealand to join the couple's celebration.

Rita was glad that her sister Elena was able to attend. "Elena to the rescue!" she exclaimed.

Furthermore, Taika's daughters Te Hinekahu and Matewa Kiritapu also participated in the event.

Wedding bells softly rang for Rita and her partner, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.

Describing it as "peaceful," she expressed that "It was almost like another day. We just all dressed up and got married."

The British singer beamed as she told me about her "something borrowed," the pearls that her mom had worn at her wedding. "My sister, Elena, put the bracelet on my wrist," she said. "It was a beautiful moment - to have my sister walk with me down the aisle and share in my special day."

For her special day, it was only right that Rita donned a stunning Tom Ford dress.

"It was a dream come true for me," beamed the singer, who has always admired his work and persona, "I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather wear on my wedding day."

Vogue's feature revealed a stunning one-shoulder gown crafted from sheer white lace, sure to have heads turning. Topping off her look was a thin veil along with an exquisite single rose. For his part, Taika went for a more traditional suit of pinstripes to complete his groom ensemble.
