Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom sent a letter pleading with an 83-year-old Army veteran to keep his promise and sell them his $15 million Santa Barbara pad.

Radar Online has obtained a copy of the document in which the couple try to convince Carl Westcott not to back out of the agreement.

Court documents disclosed Carl's assertion that he was effected by pain relieving drugs when he authorized the sale of his property to Bernie Gudvi, Katy's business manager.

Subsequently, Carl brought legal action against Bernie wanting to nullify the transaction. His counsel pointed out Carl suffers from Huntington's Disease which impedes his wellbeing.

The legal representative for the veteran stated, "At the time of presenting the intended agreement on paper, Plaintiff had not given authorization to any real estate broker to promote his house sale. It is worth noting that only a few weeks before, he had moved into his new home after making the purchase."

At the time of signing the contract, the plaintiff was reportedly under the influence of various mind-altering drugs prescribed by his doctor upon being released from hospital a couple days prior.

He had been instructed to take such pain killers to manage his current medical state.

Bernie has vehemently refuted any accusations of misconduct. Later in October, the matter will be settled in court.

The outlet was able to get their hands on the document Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom penned to Westcott following his declaration that he wanted to rescind the agreement.

They wrote, "We are writing this letter to you to express our appreciation with regard to your agreement to sell your property to us and to communicate our joy at being able to call it our home."

"As you know we are expecting a baby next month and know that this will be the best place to bring her home to and raise her in."

The letter further stated, "Though there were other properties that did interest us, yours will provide us the comfort of security, privacy, and safety. These three details are of the utmost importance to us and the reason we were willing to pay a premium and move forward on your property specifically."

"This home will be a respite, one where we will be able to grow together as a family. We have gone through some challenges in the past week, our beloved dog Mighty passed away."

"With such devastating news, being the lucky people to purchase your home is a shining light to help get us through such a difficult time," they added.

"We hope you can appreciate that you are turning your home over to a very loving couple, who are expecting their first baby and have nothing but joy at the thought of making their life and future memories there."
