Stevie Nicks found herself in the middle of hot water after she shared a post about the Maui wildfires.

Nicks uploaded a post on Instagram in which she talked about the Maui wildfires that have killed 99 people as of press time. The death toll is expected to rise as the search has yet to cover 75 percent of the affected parts, per Reuters.

She wrote, "Lahaina is not gone ~ It is just away ~ With Aloha, Stevie Nicks," in the caption, before adding a lengthy message about her home and family on the island.

However, her followers did not find her post helpful and viewed it as something insensitive instead due to her choice of words.

"Wow Stevie, I'm actually disappointed in your post," one wrote. "People lost their homes and more and you're going on about your niece not having a vacation home to relax in."

"you're a queen but this is kinda tone deaf, indigenous people lost their livelihoods and your response is, 'I used to love vacationing here it ruined my nieces vacation,'" another said.

Nicks and her representatives have yet to respond to the criticisms.

Meanwhile, the "Edge of Seventeen" singer's bandmate, Mic Fleetwood, lost his Fleetwoods on Front St. but said the safety of everyone is always their priority. The restaurant's page also opened up about the saddening development in a separate post.

Maui Wildfires Update

The wildfires that started on August 8 have already killed 99 people as the search continues in the affected area. Currently, 25 percent of the disaster zone of Lahaina has been combed.

Maui County Police Chief John Pelletier said in a press conference that they were doing the search as fast as possible, but a "reverence" came with it since the ash on everyone's clothing is also their loved ones.

Pelletier said they aim to comb 85 percent to 90 percent of the disaster zone by the upcoming weekend, adding more cadaver dogs in the search.
