It has been years since Hozier released a new album-four, to be exact-and his newly released album "Unreal Unearth" seems to be making a beeline for the top of the UK music charts.
But can "Unreal Unearth" live up to the hype and outperform the Irish singer's previously released albums, "Hozier" and "Wasteland, Baby!"?
According to reports, it seems like it can. The new albums is coming in second, just after The View's "Exorcism of Youth," and it might just overtake it soon enough.
It seems logical that with each album Hozier releases, he climbs up the music charts, after all, he is well loved by his fanbase and he has managed to capture the attention of casual listeners as well.
In fact, Hozier is faced with a dilemma about his fame and privacy. He wants people and fans to give more attention to his music than to him.
Hozier Talks Privacy, Fame
Despite being in the music industry for quite some time now, the singer has taken his time with releasing new music, making sure that each drop is as good-if not better-than the last.
And his secret is simple: living a life offline and away from prying eyes.
"I just tried to keep grounded as best I could. You can put yourself on precarious ground if you invest a great deal of your self-worth and self-esteem (into) good things that are being said about you for a short period of time," the singer told USA Today. "You have to figure out where you get your sense of fulfillment, and I just tried to appreciate the moment."
Hozier Promotes 'Unreal Unearth'
Despite his vow that he wishes to stay away from social media and live his life in private, Hozier admits that social media and the public are inescapable; especially since he is a singer.
As of late, the singer has been more active on social media as he promoted the release of his new album. That does not mean he particularly enjoys it, though.
"I'll take a look at stuff before it's uploaded, but I'm not naturally drawn to documenting my life," Hozier admitted. "I try to keep a healthy distance from a lot of social media. The moments that feel natural, I'm happy to do that. But it feels inauthentic for me personally if I'm oversharing."
