Lil Nas X had a very successful debut after he released his first studio album "MONTERO" in 2021 and fans wanted to hear more music from the singer.

More recently, the musician gave his supporters a hint on his next LP and it appears that it's completely different from his previous releases; is he switching genres?

According to NME, the "INDUSTRY BABY" attended the Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of his documentary "Long Live Montero," directed by Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel.

During a fan Q&A, one asked when the singer would return to the city to perform, but he revealed that he had to release new music first before going back on stage.

"I want to drop this good-ass, fire-ass music first, and then I'm gonna be back out there," he said.

"Hear me out... I want to do some folk music. What else do I want to do? Like, Brazilian funk," he said.

As of this writing, the musician has yet to reveal details about his new record, but he also teased his supporters earlier this year, saying he could easily drop new music but he has to "go bigger than before."

Lil Nas X Documentary Premiere Delayed Due to Bomb Threat

According to AP News, the premiere of the singer's documentary in Toronto was delayed for a few moments due to a bomb threat.

It was reported that the event was delayed for about 20 minutes as authorities assigned at the venue verified whether the threat was credible or not.

At the time, Lil Nas X stepped out of the red carpet for his safety.

After an investigation, it was determined that the threat was general and not directed at the movie or the singer himself.

The documentary follows the singer's tour that started in September 2022. The series of concerts featured some of his biggest tracks, including from his album "MONTERO."
