As the Mercury Retrograde took its final bow, its final two casualties kame in the form of another splitting celebrity couple. Power couple Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra Lee have announced their split after nearly 30 decades since they married.
The Deborra Lee and Hugh Jackman divorce came as a shock to many considering how the two had been very tight and strong for each other amid the health scares of the latter.
Deborra Lee, Hugh Jackman Divorce Reason Revealed
In a statement shared with People Magazine, the couple described themselves to be "blessed" to share 27 years of life as husband and wife.
"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," they said.
As for their family, the couple had this to say:
"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
According to Page Six sources, while the divorce may seem like a shock to many, the opposite can be said about their close family and friends.
"It happened a while ago. Friends and family knew about it," the insider dished out.
But what was the real reason for Hugh Jackman's divorce? Per the outlet, it may be rooted in Jackman's return to Broadway, on "Music Man."
"Deb wasn't at rehearsals very much," the source shared, noting that she "was even spotted snoozing during some of them,"
Apparently, there really wasn't a third party between Jackman and Lee but they simply turned into "roommates" instead of spouses.

How did Deborra Lee and Hugh Jackman Meet?
According to Style Caster, the couple met in the Australian TV show "Corelli."
"Deb, she was a big star...I get picked up, and Deb is in the front seat of the car. I'll never forget," Jackman told the magazine at the time. "She took off her seatbelt and she turned around and put out her hand and took off her sunglasses and said, 'Hi, I'm Deborra-lee Furness, nice to meet you.' I remember thinking, 'I like this girl.'"
In April 1996, the two tied the knot and have since become Hollywood's most powerful couple.
