In his latest album, Diddy recruited a star-studded roster of artists, including Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and Justin Bieber, to name a few.

Born in New York and raised in Vermont, Diddy is perhaps one of those artists who is a true-blooded New Yorker.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams also handed Diddy a key to the city, honoring his achievements and contributions to the music industry and hip-hop in general.

"The bad boy of entertainment is getting the key to the city from the bad boy of politics!" Mayor Eric Adams screamed in Times Square. "Diddy finally has the key to the city!"

Thanking Adams for the recognition that New York had given him, Diddy reflected for a while.

"This city has given me triumphs, life lessons and love," Combs said in a speech. "Today, I accept this key not just for me, but for every dreamer, every hustler, every artist, and every kid from New York who dares to dream big."

Deemed as the "embodiement of the New York City attitude," Diddy joins other hip-hop artists like Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, Fabolous, and Foxy Brown, to have received the key to the city in the past.
