Taylor Swift and her impact will be examined in an upcoming conference hosted by the University of Melbourne called "Swiftposium."

According to reports, the three-day conference will be attended by some researchers and academics across the Asia-Pacific region and will tackle the "Anti-Hero" singer's impact and influence in today's society as well as the music industry, and beyond.

"She's quite a phenomenon," said Jennifer Beckett, an organizer of the conference told BBC. "Taylor Swift really does have a very concrete impact globally, across things that affect all of us."

"World leaders are begging for her to bring the Eras Tour to their country because of the economic benefits that it brings."

The term is a wordplay of Swift and symposium, which is defined as "a meeting or conference for the discussion of some subject," as per the dictionary.

Taylor Swift's Impact, Influence

Swift receiving the honor of being a subject of a conference is not entirely a new concept, since New York University's Clive Davis Institute launched its very own course about the singer last year.

Since then, Swift has grown exponentially in terms of musical influence as well as pop culture impact.

At the University of London, they offered a module on Swift and her lyrics, which are considered literature, as her discography boasts references to literary history, such as "The Lakes" and "Love Story."

Swift's "The Eras" tour was such a huge success that the United States' local economies improved and saw an uptick in their gross domestic product or GDP.

According to reports, the tour had a projected gross of $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone.

On top of that, Swift has also used her voice for social causes as well, including support for the LGBTQIA+ community and vote registry.

"I've been so lucky to see so many of you at my US shows recently. I've heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are," Swift wrote. "Make sure you're ready to use them in our elections this year!"

Her Instagram Story instigated thousands of registrations.

Taylor Swift, 'Swiftposium'

While it is still unclear whether Swift knows about the upcoming academic conference about her, fans and Beckett invite the singer to come-since Beckett herself is a fan.

"I can't think of another artist, with perhaps the exception of Beyoncé, who has had quite the same economic impact," she said.

"There is immense value in looking at these types of culture icons when they have this level of influence."
