Billboard reports that this year's edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will include new records from a number of prominent musicians, including Metallica, One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Eminem, and Shakira.

Metallica find themselves in the book for being the only band to ever perform on all seven continents, which they achieved with their "Freeze 'Em All" show in Antarctica back in December. In fact, the band managed to perform concerts on all seven continents in just a single year.

UK boy band One Direction has also managed to create a new record, by becoming the first act to have their first three albums all debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, which they achieved with the release of their most recent album Midnight Memories back in December. That's pretty impressive, considering that nobody buys albums anymore.

Eminem broke the record for the most words in a hit single with "Rap God," which fits 1,560 words into its six-minute running time.

This next one should come as a surprise to no one: Miley Cyrus is the most searched-for pop star on the Internet (which is why her name went first in the title of this story). Despite her immense Internet fame, however, she's still not the most popular musician on Twitter: that honor goes to Katy Perry, who has racked up 52,463,838 followers. Still, neither of them is as liked as Shakira, who has become the first person (not just musician - person) to break 100 million likes on Facebook.

This year's edition of Guinness Book of World Records will be out next week on Sept. 11.
