BLACKPINK's resident rapper Jennie garnered the ire of her fans when she released the collection of merchandise in support of her new single "You & Me."

The merchandise included several items like a cushion and phone cases, which all featured the cover art created by the genius behind the iconic Japanese anime, "Sailor Moon," Naoko Takeuchi.

The cushion is priced at around $28, while the phone cases are priced at around $47, which shocked both fans and netizens, who thought the layout of the art on the phone cases looked horrible.

"Oh, this just possed me off," a fan wrote.

"The phone cases are laughingly bad," another added.

"It is so a*s and so lazy, like I can't even."

"Like they working with the literal 'Sailor Moon' creator and this is what they come up with. Just terrible," another added.

"Imagine working with THE sailor moon creator and this is what you come up with... yg is going to heII."

"Please hire an actual graphic designer this is so sad to see."

BLACKPINK Jennie Teams Up with 'Sailor Moon' Creator

According to reports, the "The Idol" star teamed up with one of Japan's most beloved and revered illustrators, Takeuchi, for the cover art of her brand new single, "You & Me."

While the song may seem new to some people, Jennie debuted the song during BLACKPINK's "Born Pink" world tour in Seoul.

She performed the song once again during BLACKPINK's set in Coachella earlier this year, which is why the release includes a "Coachella Version" of the song.

BLACKPINK Jennie Peaks in Billboard Chart

Despite the entire merchandise fiasco, fans are completely in love with Jennie's new song.

According to reports, "You & Me" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. songs chart.

In fact, the inclusion of the song in the top 10 of the songs chart is a milestone for Jennie, Rose, and of course, BLACKPINK, as they are the only group in history with multiple members leading on the list.

That means "You & Me" topped the songs chart in countries around the globe excluding the United States.

According to Forbes Magazine, "You & Me" sold 4,348 copies in its debut tracking frame, and became Jennie's first placement on the Digital Songs Chart as a solo artist.
