Britney Spears did not plan to offend anyone when she wrote her memoir.

On Tuesday, October 24, Gallery Books will officially release Spears' book "The Woman in Me" which contains bombshell stories that recently shocked the public. Among the publicized excerpts, the stories involving Justin Timberlake took the most spotlight.

Her fans immediately slammed Timberlake and other people in the memoir who did not treat Spears properly, but the singer revealed the real reason why she wrote it.

Britney Spears Tells Fans She Did Not Write the Memoir To Offend Anyone

On Friday, October 20, Spears took to Instagram to clarify that she shared her story through the book because she wanted to show who she was in the past.

"I don't like the headlines I am reading," she said in the since-deleted post. "That's exactly why I quit the business four years ago !!! Most of my book is from 20 years ago ... I have moved on, and it's a beautiful clean slate from here!!!"

The "Toxic" singer added that she did not know it was a book that needed to be written. Although some would be left offended by the content, it allowed her to finally give herself the closure she needed "for a better future."

She ended her post by expressing her hopes that it can enlighten people who are hurt and misunderstood.

As of press time, Spears appeared to have deactivated her Instagram again after posting the statement. The page shows, "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram," indicating that the account does not exist.

Before the deactivation, OK! Magazine cited fans' comments that were left under the post.

"We are happy to hear your voice again Britney!" one said. "For far too long you were silenced. It's time you were able to tell us in your words what's been going on for the last 20+years. Be proud we are proud of you!"

Another wrote, "Thank you for sharing your story @britneyspears."

Timberlake has yet to respond to the book's content, but sources said he remains in great place as he focuses on his family with Jessica Biel and his music projects.
