Madonna faced a very serious health crisis earlier this year due to a bacterial infection she contracted while she was preparing for her "Celebration" tour.

It caused her entire team to scramble to postpone and reschedule all her tour dates as her condition worsened and she had to be hospitalized.

"Less than four months ago, I was in the hospital and I was unconscious and people were thinking, predicting that I might not make it...it's a fu**ing miracle I'm here right now," Madonna declared during her concert in Belgium over the weekend.

"My mother, god bless her, she must be watching over me, she said, 'Girl, it's not your time to go."

The singer is now well and has began her "Celebration" tour; as of this writing, she is in good shape and there have been no reports of the infection affecting her performances.

Reports during that time say that the "Like a Virgin" singer was pushing her limits and was rehearsing for the tour nonstop, which eventually led to her immune system weakening.

By the end of June, Madonna was given the green signal to be discharged and return home.

"She's in the clear," a source told CNN. "She's resting, feeling better and following doctors [sic] orders."

On the other hand, Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, gave fans a more official update on social media.

"Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected," he wrote. "At this time we need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

"We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

Madonna's 'Celebration' Tour

According to reports, Madonna began her highly anticipated tour in London's O2 Arena.

Elsewhere during her speech, Madonna reflected on her mother's life and battle against breast cancer.

"I had this strange thought. I suddenly had sympathy for my mother, not about the dying part, but how lonely she must have felt being in hospital, knowing that she wasn't going to live," the singer continued.

She went on to reassure her fans that while she is not back to her 100 percent, she "can't complain because [she's] alive."

"I was given another chance," the "Material Girl" singer added. "So I'm very grateful for that."
