Slipknot might be one of the most successful heavy metal bands in the music industry as they have been performing for decades now and fans have loved their classic songs through the years. However, a recent interview with Corey Taylor revealed that the band doesn't earn that much compared to what the public expect them to have; why is that?

The musician recently appeared in an episode of the "FeedbackDef podcast" wherein he revealed that people's expectations of the group's earnings isn't that much.

He confessed that the group doesn't make that much money compared to other bands as he said: "Honestly, in a weird way, we don't make a lot of money."

Corey Taylor clarified that he and his bandmates make enouch to "live comfortably" but they never really had any "massive deals."

He explained that one of the reasons why they only earn money that's sufficient for them to live is because they had to pay their "whole crew."

In addition, there are other miscellaneous that they have to settle every time as he explained: "There's the production that we have to pay for. There's all of this shit that we need to pay for. So at the end of the day, we are paid pretty much commensurate with what we are worth." (via Blabbermouth)

Corey Taylor's Future Is Now Secured Thanks to His Earnings As A Musician

Later on, he revealed that he's secured in the future as he already knows that he could take care of his family, especially when it comes to his children's educations and insurance. (via Noise Creep)

The main reason why he was able to afford all of those was due to his career as a musician which required him to wear stuffy jumpsuits, masks, and more.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Corey Taylor explained why Slipknot members doesn't earn that much compared to other musicians as he noted that the type of content they put out is not "palatable for a mass audience."

Slipknots' members have different earnings as of 2023 as Metal Shout reported that the likes of Mick Thomson and Craig Jones both have an estimated fortune of $20 million.
