Madonna still reigns as the Queen of Pop and the biggest-selling female recording artist in history.

After initially postponing her "Celebration" tour due to a health scare, Madonna kicked it off and met her fans again to celebrate the release of her third greatest hits album. The music project became a great addition to her successful 14 studio albums, seven compilation albums and six live albums, among others.

Although she has yet to release a new studio album after "Madame X" in 2019, the "Back That Up To The Beat" hitmaker proved her lasting influence and power with a recent milestone.

Madonna Extends Her Guinness World Record

The Guinness World Records recertified Madonna on Thursday, October 26, as the biggest-selling female recording artist of all time. She maintained her position after selling more than 400 million records over her four decades of career.

Madonna's recertification extended the title she has been holding onto since 2009.

The other female artists who follow her on the list - including Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé - have yet to beat her.

She revealed in her interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in 2022 that she already sold a whopping number of albums during her career.

"While precise sales figures are difficult to obtain, it's widely acknowledged that only The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson have sold more records worldwide, making Madonna the best-selling female singer," the Guinness World Records said.

It also acknowledged Madonna's record as the highest-grossing female touring artist, earning nearly $1.4 billion from her tours as of July 2022. She follows The Rolling Stones, U2, Elton John and Bruce Springsteen on the list.

With her ongoing "Celebration" tour, it is highly likely that she will surpass one or two musicians soon.
