There have been countless of cases of cancel culture over the past few years and it happens to a lot of celebrities who make mistakes and their fans would turn their backs against them without getting to the bottom of what really happened.

More recently, country legend Dolly Parton expressed her true feelings about cancel culture and it appears that she's not in favor of this kind of thinking.

The musician recently spoke in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and she revealed that withdrawing support from a famous person due to something negative that they have done is "terrible."

"We all make mistakes. We don't all get caught at it. But also, when somebody makes a mistake, it depends on who they are," she added.

Parton further elaborated her answer and she connected it with her faith and beliefe saying she's a believer of God and that's how she perceive things.

"A lot of people don't. But even still, everybody deserves a second chance. You deserve to be innocent until you're proven guilty. Even when you're proven guilty, if God can forgive you, so can I," she added. (via Taste of Country)

Dolly Parton Defends Kid Rock Collaboration

One example of cancel culture is Kid Rock whobroke COVID-19 safety protocol regulations. In addition, he also expressed his dislike about the beer brand Bud Light after it partnered with Dylan Mulvaney, a trans influencer.

Following this, Kid Rock has received countless of criticism from other people, especially from the world of social media.

More recently, Parton collaborated with the musician and people have also called her out about it. Her answer? She mentioned that just because she loves Kid Rock doesn't mean she doesn't love other people.

"I don't condemn or criticize. I just accept and love," she added.

Dolly Parton Says She Rejected Super Bowl Offers a lot of Times in the Past

Elsewhere in her interview with the outlet, the musician revealed that the Super Bowl Halftime Show has invited her several times in the past, but she kept on turning it down.

One of the main reasons why she decided not to take the opportunity was because she felt that she wasn't big enough to do it, especiall in the production aspect.

She noted that those kinds of shows have big productions and she has never done anything in that scale. (via NME)
