Before the November 3 premiere of Sofia Coppola's biopic "Priscilla," Elvis Presley's 78-year-old ex-wife Priscilla Presley expressed some reservations.

During an appearance in Las Vegas on the day of the film's release, Priscilla opened up with PEOPLE magazine about her apprehensions regarding the 52-year-old filmmaker.

The ex-wife confessed, "I was very concerned about this movie. I think it's right on, to be honest with you."

When Priscilla chose to write the memoir "Elvis and Me" in 1985, she shared that had someone else sought to make this book into a film, and she would've been against the idea.

The mom-of-one said about the movie, "I love her filmmaking. I think she does a great job. She is for women, and when she approached me about doing a movie about me, I was moved by it."

"If anyone were to do a movie, it would be for her. I would never support another movie from anyone else doing it."

At 78 years of age, Lisa Marie Presley's mother revealed why she found a special connection with Sofia during their project.

She noted that it was partly due to Sofia's generous heart and her father - Francis Ford Coppola's fame. "She connected with me", Priscilla said warmly.

In regards to Sofia's film about her life, Priscilla assured that she has no issue with it at all.

Moreover, she was confident that Sofia "put in her best efforts for it to be accurate."

Before Lisa Marie died in January, Lisa Marie Presley, it was reported by Variety on November 2 that she had sent emails to Sofia where she expressed her disappointment in the script for her film.

Lisa Marie said in an email four months before her tragic death, "My father only comes across as a predator and manipulative. As his daughter, I don't read this and see any of my father in this character."

"I don't read this and see my mother's perspective of my father."

Lisa, having recently died due to obstruction in her bowel from a weight-loss surgery, expressed her dissatisfaction with Sofia's film script, taggling it "vengeful."

She went on to ask for changes to be made and warned that should those revisions not come to fruition, she may take action against it. "I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective, and I don't understand why?" Lisa Marie stated.

She also seemed worried about the project, but Sofia attempted to provide some comfort.

Priscilla was credited as an executive producer of the film as well. To reassure Elvis' only daughter, Sofia said, "I hope when you watch the final product, your perspective will have changed and that it portrays both your mother and father with respect and complexity."
