Outrage and frustration have been expressed in response to Lisa Marie Presley's leaked emails.

An anonymous individual associated with Elvis Presley's estate spoke to Page Six of their displeasure, stating, "It is certain these emails had nothing to do with Lisa or her family circle--nor anyone from Elvis' estate."

"It appears suspiciously coincidental that emails concerning this movie were released before its wide distribution, especially considering its lukewarm reception. This may be an attempt at garnering more publicity for it."

Before her passing, Lisa Marie had shown vocal opposition to Sofia Coppola's film adaptation of Priscilla Presley's 1985 memoir, "Elvis and Me."

Variety came into possession of some telling email correspondence between Lisa Marie on Thursday, which pointed to her extreme displeasure with the script for the movie about her parents.

In her letter, Lisa Marie decried Coppola's actions in trying to tarnish her father's legacy so closely after creating an award-winning film.

Stating that it seemed as though Coppola was using the story of her mother to create a "very dark and jaded reality," which left her confused.

In what some call a desperate attempt to bolster their failing movie, recent reports have revealed that private emails between Lisa Marie and director Sofia Coppola have been made public by an insider of his estate.

The pain of Lisa Marie's situation was put into words by a source close to her, who said: "This must be so heartbreaking for Lisa and her children."

Friday marked the cinematic launch of "Priscilla." While it has won many favorable reviews, experts estimate that the movie - made at just $20 million - will only gross between $2 million and $4 million in its first weekend.

This week, it was made known that Priscilla, 78, kept her part in Coppola's film a mystery from not only her daughter but also Baz Luhrmann, the creator of 2022's widely acclaimed movie "Elvis," a favorite of Lisa Marie.

Upon Lisa Marie learning about "Priscilla," she cautioned her mom from being involved with the movie as a producer - and attempted to dissuade Coppola from making the production, which features Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis.

According to undisclosed insiders from Page Six, Coppola was mainly determined to center his movie around the intense public scrutiny of Priscilla and Elvis's relationship. It has been reported that Lisa Marie Presley had only viewed a preliminary cut of the script.
