TikTok is one of the most essential tools for music producers and artists right now. Sometimes, getting viral on the platform is a precursor already for the label's promotion efforts for the said track.

As the platform continues to propel artists and songs into higher chart placements, the platform has collaborated with streaming giants to ease consumers's journey into saving the songs.

TikTok Add to Music App Feature Explained

According to Variety, users can now save songs from TikTok to their chosen streaming platform.

The TikTok "Add to Music" App Feature will be launched solely on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music for now, in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the coming months and years, it will then roll out to other markets.

The publication's insiders revealed that this is not a premium feature, but an added utilization feature for TikTok to drive music listeners into the artists' accounts on the selected streaming platforms.

Notably, this TikTok "Add to Music" App Feature is different from TikTok Music, which is a streaming service platform available only in Mexico, Indonesia, Singapore, and Australia. As of this writing, TikTok has no plans yet to launch TikTok Music in the United States.

How Does TikTok's 'Add To Music' App Feature Works?

The TikTok "Add to Music" App button will be shown on the lower portion of the screen, next to the track name on the For You page. When the user adds a song for the first time, they will be directed to link their selected streaming platform where they want to save the song. (via Variety)

Additionally, users can configure where the actual song would be saved, whether in a new playlist or an existing one. The TikTok "Add to Music" App button from an artist's sound detail page too.

 "TikTok is already the world's most powerful platform for music discovery and promotion, which helps artists connect with our global community to drive engagement with their music," TikTok Global Head of Music Business Development Ole Obermann said in a statement.

He also added that the TikTok "Add to Music" App button shall be taking the process of music discovery further - linking the users from TikTok to consuming their music on streaming service - "making it easier than ever for music fans to enjoy the full-length song on the music streaming service of their choice, thereby generating even greater value for artists and rightsholders."
