Elvis Presley's former manager, Colonel Tom Parker, has a story about them in a new book and it claimed that the singer would've been saved if he had done one major thing in his career.

According to OK! Magazine, an upcoming book titled "Elvis and the Colonel: An Insider's Look at the Most Legendary Partnership in Show Business" by Greg McDonald will explore the life of the successful duo who took over the industry back in the day.

The author revealed that Parker treated Presley like a son and he also noted that the former manager never wrote a book even though he had negative press that surrounded him back when he was alive as he refused to do it.

However, when McDonald had the chance to watch the movie "Elvis" by Baz Luhrmann, he immediately thought of writing a book because "somebody had to come out and finally tell the truth."

Colonel Tom Parker Tried to Help Elvis With His Battle With Addiction

McDonald wrote the book to make it seem that the two had so much respect for one another, even though there have been reports regarding their rocky connection.

"They loved each other, but they had a tough relationship toward the end because Elvis wasn't doing well, and the Colonel was worried about him," he wrote in the book.

Elvis Presley died at the age of 42, but months before his shocking passing, he struggled with addiction.

The author claimed in the book that people asked Parker to look after the singer and seek help in order to save him.

Parker did his best as he would tell him to "get his act together."

Elvis Presley Would've Been Saved If He Did THIS

Parker believed that Presley could have possibly saved if he changed his perception in music and if he tried to make gospel music.

"He knew that Elvis loved gospel music. He loved it better than anything... The Colonel knew Elvis was at risk. He felt that gospel music would save him," McDonald wrote.

Unfortunately, Elvis Presley passed away in August 1977 at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee due to a heart attack.

On the other hand, Colonel Tom Parker died in 1997.
