Born John Roger Stephens on December 28, 1978, the musician is now 45 years old. He was the eldest of four children. His mother was a seamstress while his father was a factory worker.

The singer got his love for music from his parents as his dad was a drummer while his mother also worked at a church choir. In addition, his grandmother also became an integral part of his upbringing as she played the organ.

At the young age of 4, Legend began playing the piano, and a few years after that, he started to perform with his church choir. In addition to being a master in music, he also excelled academically which led him to skip two grades. By the age of 12, he already attended High School.

John Legend Shares How His Fame Impacted His Children

John Legend recently appeared in an interview with "Let's Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray" under SiriusXM.

During the conversation, Gray asked how Brady and Legend's children feel about having such famous fathers.

The singer is a dad to four children named Wren Alexander, Esti Maxine, Luna Simone, and Miles Theodore, all of whom he shares with Chrissy Teigen.

Legend said his kids "seem to take it pretty well" and they're used to it now.

"They know that their mom and dad are famous. They know, you know, their friends see their mom and dad on television," he said. (via People Magazine)

He also noted that he thinks his children are proud of him and the music that he put out.
