With 551 million subscribers worldwide, Spotify is the biggest music streaming platform in the world. Streaming has become an integral part of everybody's lives nowadays that people would spend an average of 118 minutes listening to Spotify daily.

With 2023 ending and artists having already announced the release dates for next year's new album releases, we've taken a deep dive on the three most streamed albums of all time on Spotify.

The Weeknd: Starboy

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, The Weeknd's "Starboy" is the third most streamed album of all time on Spotify.

Raking in 12.613 billion streams as of October 2023, "Starboy" is composed of singles like the title track which has been streamed 2.914 billion streams to date, "Die For You" with 1.964 billion streams, and the Daft Punk collaboration with 1.631 billion streams.

The album won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album, his second win in the category after "Beauty Behind the Madness" in 2016. The album has also been certified 4x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Ed Sheeran: Divide

As of December 2023, Guinness listed "Divide" as the second most streamed album on Spotify of all time. Ed Sheeran's third studio album has already amassed 14.164 billion streamed worldwide.

The 16-track album is composed by best-selling singles which has also been streamed more than a billion times on the same platform - "Galway Girl (1.249B)," "Happier (1.275B)," "Castle on the Hill (1.276B)," "Perfect (2.759B)" and "Shape of You (3.731B)."

Like The Weeknd, the album also won a Grammy Award in 2018 in its respective category - Best Pop Vocal Album, while its controversial lead single won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance in the same year.

Bad Bunny: Un Verano Sin Ti

This feat is not a huge shocker for Bad Bunny at all. Hailed as Spotify's Artist of the Year for two consecutive years from 2021 to 2022, Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti" has been streamed 15,177,011,050 as of December 2023.

Six from his 23-tracked album have been streamed more than a billion times, including "Me Porto Bonito" (feat. Chencho Corleone), "Tití Me Preguntó", "Callaita" (feat. Tainy), "Ojitos Lindos" (feat. Bomba Estéreo), "Efecto" and "Moscow Mule."

The album has made strides at the Grammy Awards in 2022 by being the first all-Spanish album to be nominated for Album of the Year. Although he lost the top prize to Harry Styles, Benito took home the Grammy Award for Best Musica Urbana Album.
