Rod Stewart sparked concerns after he made a public appearance with a mystery injury.

On Tuesday, January 16, night, Stewart stepped out at the Kit Kat Club in London while donning his eye-catching orange getup. The public, however, also noticed his right hand with a tight bandage, igniting concerns over the mysterious injury.

What Happened to Rod Stewart?

In the photos posted by Daily Mail, Stewart beamed a bright smile despite seemingly hurting his hand.

A representative for the "I Don't Want to Talk About It" singer has yet to share further details about the reported injury. Although there is a lack of information about his latest health issue, it looks like it will not impact his mobility in any way.

He previously underwent a knee replacement and ankle surgery after getting injured while playing football.

"My knee got fixed with a knee replacement, so then the ankle didn't know what was going on because obviously it's crooked because of the knees, so now I've had to have the ankle done," he told The Sun at that time.

In 2023, he had to cancel some of his shows after falling ill.

Before his supposed March 18 concert at Mt. Duneed Estate in Geelong, Australia, he apologized to his fans as his viral infection affected his capacity to perform.

"I'm only human and sometimes get sick just like you do," he said at that time. My greatest joy is performing for you, so I'm doing everything I can to get on the mend and back on stage."

Rod Stewart's Health Issues Explored

The "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" hitmaker's health battle started in 2000 when his doctors found a lump in his thyroid gland. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer then and immediately underwent surgery to have it removed.

Stewart lost his voice after the procedure, leaving him feeling afraid of how it could affect his future.

Fortunately, he got his voice back and started performing again. However, he hit an issue again when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016, which he only revealed when he announced he was cancer-free in 2019.

Due to the series of health setbacks, his children reportedly urged him to retire so he could focus on being a father and grandfather.

The source said, "They are worried about him and want him to throw in the towel on music and retire on his own terms. Their dad has devoted 50 years of his life to music and he has nothing left to prove to anyone."
