"Nashville Star" winner Chris Young was arrested and charged with assault earlier this week.

Young was reported to have assaulted a police officer while at the DawgHouse Saloon in Nashville.

Chris Young Arrest Update

People Magazine obtained the arrest affidavit for Chris Young. According to the document, police allegedly arrived at the Tin Roof Bar in midtown Nashville to conduct a compliance check on behalf of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Young, who was at the bar, was asked for his identification cards and checked with the bar staff to check the establishment's documents. The musician then started to talk to the cops and began filming the interaction.

It was also revealed that when the officer left the bar, they wenton to another establishment, DawgHouse, and Young and his friends followed the officials to the next bar and spoke with its staff.

As the officers left the location, Young allegedly "laid hands" on the officer and "struck" one in the shoulder.

The cop then pushed him away and a civilian intervened. Young then allegedly started "yelling and screaming," escalating the situation and refusing to follow the officer's directions.

The affidavit also detailed that two officials have "physically detained" Young, which prompted his friends to become "hostile."

Young's speech was reportedly "slurred" and his eyes were "bloodshot and watery." He was taken into custody but was later released for a $250 bond for disorderly conduct, $1000 for resisting arrest, and $1250 for assault.

The singer is reported to appear in court on Feb. 16, 2024. As of this writing, Chris Young has not yet issued a statement about what really took place in the said altercation.
