    Ladies, gentlemen...feel like dancing on a table? The Saturday Night Fever series is officially here, bringing you a party playlist each week with a different theme. (Read: different theme, they won't always be dance songs.) But this week's edition is Remix focused, so this will probably get you moving, even if you're the most self-conscious dancer ever. We're featuring Odesza's 2013 My Friends Never Die Remixes. The original EP came out this September, and now it's back with a makeover. Odesza consists of Harrison Mills (Catacombkid) and Clayton Knight (BeachesBeaches). Hear "Without You," in three different versions.
  • Big Act to Play on Your TV

    Pretty Lights will hold its first ever Pay-Per-View concert on Saturday November 30th at 9pm PST. Derek Vincent Smith will be playing with some of the musicians from his acclaimed A Color Map of the Sun album. You can get the live electro hip-hop soul sounds for $19.95 via IN DEMAND, Avail-TVN, DIRECTV, and DISH Network.
  • New John Lennon App

    Now this is a music experience app you haven't seen. You can simulate John Lennon's intimate six-day ocean voyage to Bermuda for $4.99. "John Lennon: The Bermuda Tapes" has music, photos, interviews and other interactive features, according to the Associated Press. On this trip Lennon took 6 months before he died, he was inspired to make new music again. Yoko Ono says that the experience he had on the trip "opened up a kind of frozen part of his soul and he started creating."
  • Sneak Peek at New Angel Olsen Song

    If you first heard Angel Olsen's full-length Halfway Home last year, it's probably still haunting you in the best way possible. Olsen warms up with achingly honest lyrics that tremble out of her-then holds back with a cooler, controlled voice. It's a trademark style as distinct as Joni Mitchell's voice. Olsen has just announced a new album due out February 18th, 2014, Burn Your Fire for No Witness. It will be under the indie rock label Jagjaguwar. A sneak peek at one of the new 11 songs, "Forgiven/Forgotten" already shows that she is going for more of a rock vibe than previous folk songs.

    X Games Aspen 2014 has an impressive lineup of music acts including world-renowned DJ Tiësto and dance icon/producer Axwell. Bands Phoenix and Matt & Kim will perform the day prior on Saturday January 25th. Ticket sales will support The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
  • Donate on iTunes to Urgent Effort

    We know music can be healing, and Apple is showing this in an unexpected way, collecting donations for the American Red Cross through the iTunes store. One-hundred percent of the funds will go toward aiding the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Currently, CNN reports the death toll is around 2,500. The Associated Press reports than more than 9 million people have been impacted and they fear as many as 10,000 are dead.
  • The Biggest Band You Don't Know Goes Viral for Charity

    Sometimes an act will have a following of millions on YouTube and you still haven't heard of them. Boyce Avenue is one of those acts. The pop/rock band of brothers has been selling songs and shows are the world, so you may have actually seen them outside of their billion YouTube views. They're in the spotlight this week for a viral video that came out of partnering with a non-profit Pencils of Promise (PoP). PoP helps increase educational opportunities for children in developing regions. Digital sales of their song "One Life" will go to PoP. The music video has already received over 450K views since the release (you can watch below).

    It's Monday and we're already talking about the weekend. But not because we're bored -- this is a fun series we're starting, and it takes a little planning! This weekend we will start our Saturday Night Fever series, which is essentially your party playlist for the weekend. Every weekend we will have a different playlist theme, because all party songs are not created equal. But to start off fairly traditionally, the theme will be Remixes. This doesn't mean every song has to be a dance song, but many of them will end up making you move.

    Usually in an auction of band memorabilia you expect to see a signed album and song lyrics. These will all be part of an upcoming Beatles sale, 'The White Album Auction. But in addition, TracksAuction.com will be selling John Lennon's school records. Specifically, his detention slips, the Telegraph reports.

    Musician Morrissey's "Autobiography" has already topped the book charts and become one of the fastest-selling memoirs of all time, according to the Guardian. Now they are reporting an audiobook will be released as well, read by another Morrissey. English actor David Morrissey is set to be the voice behind the book. You know him from AMC's Walking Dead and movies such as The Other Boleyn Girl.
  • YouTube Music Awards: What went down?

    There's something raw and real about a YouTube video that you don't see on a music video traditionally fit for television. In line with this spirit, the YouTube Music Awards were not what you would expect to see on the real tube. Actor and musician Jason Schwartzman (Coconut Records) co-hosted with comedian and musician Reggie Watts. The hosting was pretty much completely unscripted. Winners included Eminem, Taylor Swift and Lindsey Stirling. Lady Gaga and Tyler the Creator performed.

    Hilary Duff is back recording with music producer Billy Mann this Halloween. She tweeted a picture wearing a fox mask for the occasion. On September 24th, the internet went a buzz when she tweeted a picture recording at The Lair Studio in West Hollywood. It received over 1,000 RTs and had fans speculating if Better Days would be the name of her next album, and when would it be released?

    Singer-songwriter Rachel Ann Weiss has the smooth, rich voice reminiscent of her influences Adele and the late Amy Winehouse, with her main inspiration, Jeff Buckley. Deadline.com confirmed this to be true when FilmDistrict bought the rights to the musical biography, a script by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). Now it's official that Rocket Pictures' Rocketman has a lead for the film: Tom Hardy, who has been in thrillers like The Dark Knight Rises, Inception and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was once one of Variety's "10 Actors to Watch" and we're still watching him. But is he musical? According to the TomHardysPinky account on YouTube, Hardy has been busy with a lot of rapping.
