• ZHU, Major Lazer, Chromeo Added To Shaky Beats 2016 Lineup

    Atlanta already has several dance music-oriented festivals, but this spring it is getting another from C3 Presents, the same promoter who puts on Skaky Knees Music Festival, Lollapalooza, LouFest, Austin City Limits and others. C3 has taken the "Shaky" name and gone dancing, inaugurating the Shaky Beats Music Festival this spring. The lineup has been mostly announced but they saved some big names for one last push including Major Lazer, ZHU and Chromeo.

    Dillon Francis has released his new moombahton EP titled 'This Mixtape Is Fire.' Francis' new project does not skimp out on big name dance music features, tabbing some of the "IDGAFOS" DJ's best friends in the industry. Francis only tackles one of the six tracks alone, working with Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Chromeo, Kygo and Bro Safari across the other five tracks on the EP.

The 7-track EP humorously titled This Mixtape Is Fire after all of the fire mixtape memes around the web features some of the biggest names in electronic music and coincidentally those who are also high up in Francis' Rolodex. Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Chromeo are among the DJs featured on the EP.

    Governors Ball will once again be claiming Randall's Island in New York City for its fifth rendition and once again, the lineup is bigger than ever. The clear headliners are Drake, EDM figurehead Deadmau5 and rockers The Black Keys, all of whom will be making their first appearances at the festival. Other "sub-headliners" listed include Florence + The Machine, My Morning Jacket and Bjork.

    Electronic funk/disco duo Chromeo comprised of David Macklovitch (Dave 1), brother to A-Trak, and Patrick Gemayel (P-Thugg) have been making noise for well over a decade, but it wasn't until their fourth artist album "White Woman" hit shelves this past May that things really started to take off. In conjunction with the album being released, the "Jealous" duo have released a video with Noisey, part of the Vice network, showing the long process of creating their album. They take fans behind the scenes into studios in New York and Los Angeles as they argue over minute details of vocals, writing sessions and learn about their influences as artists.
  • Electric Daisy Carnival Reveals '15 Sin City Dates [WATCH]

    Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella has announced in a Facebook post the dates for the Electric Daisy Carnival's 2015 Las Vegas event, which will return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 19 to 21. According to "Your EDM," the 2015 festival will also bring back its weeklong EDMbiz Conference & Expo, which will run from June 16 to 23. "Let's celebrate under the electric sky and watch the sun rise together!" Rotella wrote in the Facebook announcement. "Come one, come all, come home."
