Almost immediately after it was announced yesterday that NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo would not be indicted for the chokehold death of Eric Garner in July on a Staten Island street, the backlash and disbelief began. If you tuned in to any of the news stations, then what you saw was inevitably heated debates between journalists and legal analysts over whether or not an indictment for any charge at all seemed like a no-brainer. Then last night, the peaceful protests began.Smaller groups in Harlem and Staten Island and at Grand Central Terminal were later followed by a march 5,000 people strong down Broadway through Times Square. Protesters are still rallying for some type of justice for Garner, who, just minutes before his death, broke up a fight between a few other people and then found himself surrounded by NYPD. A video of the entire altercation was caught on a cellphone and Garner's hands were clearly up as he backed away from officers who were determined to arrest him for selling loose cigarettes — a summary offense.Pantaleo wrestled Garner to the ground in what appeared to be a type of chokehold, something that has been banned by the NYPD. Even as Garner expressed his inability to breathe and another officer directed Pantaleo to release him, he continued the maneuver until Garner eventually died on that sidewalk. Ironically enough, after it was announced that the grand jury would not be charging Pantaleo with a single crime, he issued an apology to Garner's family, something his widow, Esaw Garner refused to accept. -
CBS Ready to Go Dark on Dish Network This Thursday if Carriage Deal Isn't Reached
As many as 14 million Dish Network subscribers could find themselves without access to CBS's programming if a new contract isn't in place by 7pm on Thursday. The network claims to have worked hard with Dish Network to reach a new agreement for carriage and at this point, they'd rather go dark than stay stuck in the limbo that they are currently sitting in. CBS officially issued a statement today explaining their perspective. -
Ray Rice Hit the Clubs in NYC to Celebrate Having His NFL Suspension Lifted
Last Friday, Nov. 28, Ray Rice's suspension from the NFL was lifted on an appeal, and apparently he was in the mood to celebrate. Rice was spotted hitting up Bounce Sporting Club in New York City late Saturday night. The fallen NFL star stayed chatting and chilling with fans until the wee hours of Sunday morning. According to a TMZ report, security attempted to keep the fans from bothering Rice, but he was loving the attention. Rumor has it his wife Janay Rice was also with him, but that has yet to be confirmed. We can tell you with certainty that Janay's interview with "Today's" Matt Lauer these past two days has been seen in part by nearly everyone. This morning's installment included Ray taking part in the interview while standing at a kitchen counter with Janay and her parents. He, of course, apologized for knocking his wife out last February in Atlantic City after a night of hard partying. He believes that therapy has really helped him and claims he is ready to sacrifice whatever is necessary to take care of his wife. -
'Love & Hip Hop Hollywood's' Masika Tucker Confirms That She is Still Dating Yung Berg
Can you believe it has been almost a month since a fight between Masika Tucker and Yung Berg got way out of control after the taping of the "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" reunion show in New York City? Tucker called the police after Berg allegedly choked her out and beat her up but that doesn't mean that their relationship is over. In fact, they both have posted visual proof on Instagram that shows that they are still very much together. -
Kate Middleton Is Struggling to Keep Pregnancy Weight on While Working Again
Kate Middleton stepped out in Norwich, England, today in support of East Anglia's Hospices' Norfolk Capital Appeal, and once again she raised eyebrows with a bright red dress and a teased ponytail. We recently told you that Middleton has been attempting to sex up her style just a little bit by making purposefully different choices every time she walks out the door. Middleton's plan has definitely been working, as no one would accuse her of looking the least bit dowdy. She also is not looking very pregnant either, and it is starting to concern those around her.Middleton is approximately 18 weeks pregnant, and as you can see from today's photos, she barely has any baby bump. Obviously, her extended battle with morning sickness has likely prevented the duchess from gaining weight consistently this time around — at least so far. Middleton was relatively small when she delivered Prince George in July 2013, so she may not be the kind of woman who will put on a lot of pregnancy pounds. This time around is different, though, because she is also chasing after George, something that is not an easy task when she is already feeling rundown and drained. -
Chris 'CT' Tamburello Breaks His Silence, Posts Heart-Wrenching Message to Longtime Love Diem Brown
Diem Brown was a rare kind of reality star. Sure, she was a hardcore competitor on several seasons of MTV's T"he Challenge," but she was even more fearless when it came to battling cancer on three different occasions. She used her time in the spotlight to help advocate for others's battling serious illnesses and started her own nonprofit called Medgift to help patients offset the steep cost of being seriously ill.Through it all, her boyfriend Chris "CT" Tamburello was there. While these two were not always together over the last eight years, they always reunited when it counted and Tamburello was with Brown right up until her death on Nov. 14. Her funeral was yesterday in New York City, and now that reality is starting to sink in, Tamburello finally broke his silence with a post on Instagram. -
'Love & Hip Hop Hollywood's' Masika Tucker Tries to Explain Away Yung Berg's Choking Her Out After Reunion Show Taping
It has been a few weeks since the story first broke about a violent scuffle between "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" stars' Masika Kalysha Tucker and Yung Berg. Earlier this month the couple hopped a flight to NYC to take part in the filming of the reality show's reunion. After the taping they were apparently out and Berg's credit card was declined. He bounced, leaving Tucker to handle the bill, which she did. Once she got back to their hotel room a fight ensued, during which Tucker was reportedly hit, dragged by her hair and choked out. Police were called and Berg was booked on a felony charge for obstructing her airway. Tucker has finally decided to comment on the ordeal and no doubt, her words aren't necessarily going to sit very well. -
NBC's 'Today' Hoping to Land Exclusive First Joint American Interview with Kate Middleton and Prince William Later This Year
NBC is sure working hard to get in good with the royal family. First the network scored an exclusive interview last summer with Pippa Middleton, and that went so well that Kate Middleton's sister is now said to be in contention for a spot with "The Today Show" as a lifestyles correspondent. Now we are hearing that "Today" is also working hard to try and secure the first joint American interview with Middleton and her husband, Prince William. We told you the other day that the young couple is planning to travel to the States in a few weeks and will be spending time in New York City. There is also a pretty good chance that little Prince George will be traveling with them, and it is an opportunity that NBC is dying to take full advantage of. ABC is also supposedly vying for a similar interview, but because of Pippa's connection with "Today," it seems more likely that they would agree to grant that morning show their first interview. -
Dr. Craig Spencer Leaving Bellevue Hospital Today After Being Declared Ebola-Free
On Oct. 23, Dr. Craig Spencer was confirmed to have contracted the often-deadly Ebola virus. He had just returned to New York City after treating patients in Guinea for Doctors Without Borders and, upon spiking a fever, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Emergency workers who dealt with Spencer apparently got their official protocol correct because in the weeks since his initial diagnosis no one else has contracted the disease. On Monday afternoon, Nov. 10, "The New York Times" confirmed that Spencer is now Ebola-free and scheduled for release this afternoon. The plan to release Spencer has not been publicly announced, but was confirmed Monday by two people familiar with his treatment but who declined to be identified because they did not have permission to release the information. A spokeswoman for Bellevue did not immediately respond to a request for comment. -
Prince William and Kate Middleton Visiting NYC in Late November, Prince George May Also Join Them for Big Apple Tour
There is an ever-so-slight chance that New Yorkers might actually catch a glimpse of little Prince George later this month. It was revealed earlier this fall that Prince William was planning on visiting New York City, and at that time his wife, Kate Middleton, was knee-deep in morning sickness. She was canceling scheduled royal appearances on a weekly basis back then and the royals were not sure if Middleton was going to remain ill right up until the day she delivered her second child. Luckily, in recent weeks Middleton has rebounded. She is still not 100 percent, but she is well enough to put on a gown and smile for a few hours.Middleton is also fairly desperate to make up for all those missed appearances, mainly because she hates letting Queen Elizabeth down. She has traveled a bit recently, proving that she is capable of doing so, and because of that Middleton is now expected to tour NYC with her husband in late November. There are also rumors that Prince George may also accompany his parents to the Big Apple. The future heir to the throne's last official trip with his parents was last April, when the family spent nearly a month Down Under. -
Robert Pattinson Rumored to Be 'In Love' During a PDA-Filled Weekend in NYC with FKA Twigs
When Robert Pattinson first started popping up with FKA Twigs a few months ago many people seemed to think that it was just a casual thing that would fizzle out. Instead these two seem to be getting stronger every day and their weekend trip to NYC was laced with PDA. Pattinson headed to the Big Apple with Twigs to support her show in Brooklyn at Terminal 5 and they couldn't have seemed much tighter. -
'Love & Hip Hop Hollywood's Yung Berg Has Been Fired After Beating Up Masika Tucker in NYC
Just when we had resigned ourselves to the notion that the "Love & Hip Hop" franchise loves when its cast members get into a physical altercation because it jacks up the ratings, they have actually done something respectable. We told you earlier this week that after taping the reunion show for "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" in NYC, Yung Berg got extremely violent with his girlfriend/costar, Masika Tucker.
