• Ice Cube Announces N.W.A. Reunion at BET Experience Concert in L.A.

    Ice Cube announced the biggest hip-hop news of the summer as N.W.A. will apparently reunite in some form for the BET Experience show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 27. It doesn't seem, based on Cube's commentary, that Dr. Dre will not be involved however MC Ren and DJ Yella will take part, as well as special appearances from Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q.

    'Pitch Perfect 2' might not have a "Cups" yet (technically Anna Kendrick does perform her song on the new soundtrack but it's not a Hot 100 smash anymore) but it still managed something that the previous film's song collection didn't: topping the albums charts. The record, boosted by medleys featuring dozens of hit songs, won the sales battle this week by moving 91,000 copies.

    Snoop Dogg’s new Pharrell-produced album BUSH has arrived. Although he adopted the monikers Snoop Lion and Snoopzilla for his past few projects, he’s back as Snoop Dogg for this effort, despite the fact that album isn’t very rap heavy. With Pharrell helming the production, I was expecting a sound closer to “Beautiful” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” however Snoop turned BUSH into a tribute to the funk and R&B of the ‘70s and channeled the spirit of an OG. I applaud the album for its cohesion, but only a few songs really grabbed me. I definitely see this as more of a background album for chilling out than for getting hyped or dissecting lyrically. What did you guys think?

    'Pitch Perfect 2' has finally revealed the soundtrack for the forthcoming sequel, due in theaters on May 30, and boy is there a lot of music crammed into it. Although the iTunes playlist doesn't reflect too many familiar-sounding tracks, Pop Sugar has broken down the soundtrack and dug out more than 35 tracks buried within the film's many mashups.     Fans are counting down the days until Snoop Dogg releases his new Pharrell-produced album Bush. One of the more anticipated collaborations on the LP features the legend Stevie Wonder and at a recent album recent listening event in Los Angeles, the Snoop shared the story of how he was able to get Stevie on the track. During a session where he and Pharrell were recording one of the tracks, it was decided that they could use some Stevie Wonder on the track after working with Charlie Wilson on most of the LP. The Doggfather explained exactly how he was able to get a hold of Mr. Wonder and get him in the studio to record on the album, much to the apparent surprise and amazement of Pharrell (via Hip Hop DX).
