Lorde has kicked off her Melodrama tour on Thursday night in Milwaukee. During her set, the 21-year-old singer performed her own rendition of Frank Ocean's song "Solo."

A video of Lorde's performance was shared online via the Melodrama tour Twitter account. "Solo" is featured in Ocean's 2016 album Blonde. In a previous interview, Lorde said that Melodrama was inspired by Ocean's album.

"In this sort of post-Blonde landscape, we can all sort of do whatever we want in terms of instrumentation. It's exciting. I can use guitars and I can get a big gnarly Flume beat and throw it under water," said Lorde.

The New Zealand native's Melodrama tour will wrap up on May 29 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Run the Jewels, Mitski, and Tove Styrke serve as Lorde's front acts.

Lorde Talks About Her 'Melodrama' Album

Last year, Lorde opened up about her second studio album and said that Melodrama is so different from Pure Heroine. She said that she was still a kid when she released her first studio album, so she no longer listens to it. Melodrama, on the other hand, feels like a young woman's album.

Jack Antonoff, the producer of Melodrama, also seconded Lorde's statements.

"Her first album was all about being this kid. When your entire life changes, and you've built your career on being honest with your perspective, how do you continue to find ways to relate? It's near impossible," said Antonoff.

Lorde and her album producer were also romantically linked recently. However, both of them denied that they are a couple.

Lorde, Run The Jewels' 'Supercut' Remix

Earlier this week, the singer dropped a remix of "Supercut," which is her collaboration with Run the Jewels. Prior to the release of their remix, Run the Jewels member, El-P, teased his possible collaboration with Lorde.

"Without saying anything official, I will give a wink underneath my sunglasses that you'll probably hear two of those people that you just mentioned doing something together," said El-P.

Lorde is a singer-songwriter from Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. She started her career in the music industry in 2011. She has already released two studio albums, namely Pure Heroine and Melodrama.

Some of her most famous songs include "Green Light," "Royals," "Tennis Court," "Perfect Places," "Liability," "Team," "Yellow Flicker Beat," "Homemade Dynamite," "Buzzcut Season," and "Supercut."
