Julian Casablancas is making music and touring with The Voidz, but he expects to focus on The Strokes beginning in early 2015.

"In January we might meet up and work on some ideas," he told NME. "Everyone is psyched. Everything is in a really cool place.

"We haven't started on anything. But it was cool and we played some shows and the vibe is finally... I don't know if we ever had that good a working friendship foundation [in our] work relationship, but now we finally have that. We'll always have the creative vibe."

The band has not recorded anything since 2013's Comedown Machine, its fifth studio album.

Casablancas is currently prepping a new album and tour with The Voidz, and the group has already released two songs in anticipation of their new disc.

Tyranny is due for a Sept. 23 release. In addition to standard physical and digital formats, the album will be available for pre-order on cassette and as a cigarette lighter (which is actually a USB drive in a lighter sleeve), Consequence of Sound points out.
