One of the most talked about pregnancies in the past few months was Halle Bailey and rapper DDG's. The couple have hidden their pregnancy from the public despite intense speculation over it.

In December 2023, Bailey announced that she gave birth to her son, "Halo," thus confirming all the speculations and rumors that has been going on since.

Now, DDG confirmed that their pregnancy was not planned at all.

Halle Bailey Pregnancy Unexpected?

Speaking to The Jason Lee Show, DDG opened up to the embattled show host how their family started.

In the preview clip exclusively shared with People Magazine, DDG confessed that Halle Bailey's pregnancy "kinda just happened."

"We weren't aiming for a baby, but it just kinda happened," he furthered. "What are we going to do?"

Lee, on the other hand, asked some hard-hitting questions, pressing them if they knew if having a child at their early age was best for them.

"You're on tour, and you're successful in your own right and have been. She's successful in her own right, and just came out of the biggest movie, like ever, and all the drama that came with that," Lee asked. "That's a very big adult conversation in your early 20s."

DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., confirmed that he and Halle "have the same interests in being parents," thus the outcome.

"And I feel like she always wanted to be a mom. We always kind of just give off that energy, and I always wanted a kid. So, from there we just made the decision to go through with it," he concluded.

Halle Bailey's Son Named Halo Not Because of Beyonce?

The other talking point on Halle Bailey and DDG's son is his name - Halo. Many thought that they derived it from Beyonce's song of the same name, but the "Little Mermaid" star revealed the real origin. (via People Magazine)

"It was actually my boyfriend's idea," Bailey revealed, referring to her boyfriend DDG. "He's the one who came up with his name."

According to "The Color Purple" star, they both "agreed" and "loved" it instantaneously, "I love the name Halo."

As to whether the name was derived from Beyonce's iconic song of the same name in 2008, Bailey seemed to brush off the idea, saying "He for sure has a theme song."
