Fans are excited for Ariana Grande's return to music this year as she has been busy with projects over the past few years, like her cosmetics brand R.E.M. Beauty and her upcoming "Wicked" movie. Initially, the singer planned not to release a new album soon, and she had her eyes set on 2025, but her mind completely changed at the last minute; what pushed her to drop a new record?

The singer recently dropped by the "Zach Sang Show" earlier this week, revealing that she had no plans to release a new album until 2025.

"I did not plan to [make new music now]. I didn't have the goal to make an album... I actually was really opposed to coming out with music until after Wicked, either both parts or just one part. I wasn't sure how I would feel," she said. (via People Magazine)

What Made Ariana Grande Create 'Eternal Sunshine'?

Her mind completely changed when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes forced the production of "Wicked" to stop filming. This was around the time when the musician collaborated with Max Martin for a few days.

From there, Grande said the music came naturally because after meeting for over a week, she constantly came back to the studio every day alone.

"It just kinda kept organically happening that way, so I just decided to react and listen to that and I thought maybe it should come out if it's coming out of me this way... Maybe it should be shared this way," she said.

Ariana Grande 'Eternal Sunshine'

Ariana Grande's new album "Eternal Sunshine" is a way for her to heal. She noted in the interview that the record's creation helped her cope with her "own personal weird stuff" with her relationship with music and being an artist.

Regarding the conversation about going on tour, Grande said she would love to do shows and be on stage again, and it was a long time since she interacted with her fans in person.

2024 will be a busy year for Grande because aside from the release of her new album on March 8, 2024, the first part of her movie "Wicked" will also hit theaters by November of this year.

In other updates, the singer has been dropping hints about her tracklist and she finally dropped it and fans were surprised as there were no featuring musicians.
