Aside from being a great singer in the country music industry, Reba McEntire was also applauded for her acting skills, as she has a few credits. One of her most unforgettable roles was June Ballard on the television series "Young Sheldon."

More recently, one of the show's producers, Steve Holland, expressed his desire for the legendary musician to return and reprise her character.

According to TV Line, the producer wanted McEntire to play the role of June Ballard again for the final time, as the show is in its last season.

"We would love to have her back," he said. He further explained that the singer herself wanted to return and play the role again; however, there were some issues with her work.

"She's expressed interest, but she's very busy. She has another [sitcom] pilot that she's shooting...so I just don't know if it's going to work out," he added.

As of this writing, it's still unclear if Reba McEntire will reprise her role for the show before the final season ends.

Reba McEntire on 'Young Sheldon'

According to Taste of Country, McEntire appeared on the show in 2020. Her character, June Ballard, was the ex-wife of Coach Ballard, played by Craig T. Nelson.

While appearing on the program, her character had an unexpected friendship with Meemaw even though she's Coach Ballard's new romantic interest.

The outlet noted that McEntire had the chance to work with her excellent pal Melissa Peterman, as they previously worked together.

"We really want that, and I think she would like it," Holland said of the singer reprising her role; however, they are still unsure because of "logistics."

"Young Sheldon" is in its last season on CBS. The show is the prequel to the hit TV show "Big Bang Theory." The final one-hour episode will air on May 16, 2024.

Reba McEntire has been busy with her music career and is also one of the coaches of this season of "The Voice."

She will be on the panel alongside other coaches, John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and the first-ever duo judges of the show, Dan and Shay. 

In other updates, the singer recently wowed supporters and viewers as she sang the national anthem at the 2024 Super Bowl.
