Billie Eilish hit back at Rolling Stone after they leaked the track list for her new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The new record will drop on May 17 and Eilish has confirmed that she will not be releasing any new singles ahead of the drop in an effort to give listeners the album all at once. While she may be keeping the music under wraps until then, Rolling Stone has recently leaked the titles of each song on their platform.

In a now-deleted Instagram story, Eilish posted "F-- Rolling Stone," for spilling the information. She followed up with a second slide, this time writing "F-- you guys" and tagging the official Rolling Stone account with a clown emoji.

In her official album release statement, Eilish opened up about how excited she is to share the new music with her fans.

"Not doing singles i wanna give it to you all at once," she wrote on Instagram. "Finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can't wait for you to hear it. love you love you love you."

The "What Was I Made For?" singer's new LP was first teased with billboards popping up in major cities. The signs featured dark blue writing that resembled the profile picture on her social media accounts. It displayed what can be assumed to be lyrics from the album.

Different lyrics teased throughout the billboards included "I try to live in black and white," "Did I cross the line?," and "She's the headlights, I'm the deer."

The new music was teased further when Eilish launched a "Close Friends" story on Instagram for her followers. On Sunday night, she shared that she was "telling you something tomorrow," which was assumed to be new music. Her fans were even more fired up when they noticed that her website was down with a 404 Error the morning of the announcement.

After she took to social media to share a brief snippet of unreleased music, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Shazam identified the new work as "Bittersuite," which gave insight for what to expect from an upcoming track.

The short selection of new music was accompanied by a first look at a visual for the new album. The instrumental is played over a video of her falling into a body of water, making a slow-motion splash into a dark sea. While none of the lyrics are teased in the video, Eilish can be heard ad-libbing a few notes toward the end.

Hit Me Hard and Soft will be her third studio effort. In 2021, she dropped Happier Than Ever, which followed her Grammy-winning debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? in 2019. She revealed in February that the new album had been mastered, making it clear that a release announcement was coming soon.

Leading up to the new LP, Elish states that writing her Grammy- and Oscar-winning song for the Barbie soundtrack rejuvenated her drive to write the new solo record.

"There is a whole album of music coming," Eilish shared several months ago. "We're in the final stages of making it, so that doesn't mean it's about to come out, but it is getting there and it's very exciting."
