David Fincher's Gone Girl is shaping up to be a hot ticket next month at the movies, and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have a lot to do with that. The pair shared music from the soundtrack and film score recently, and it sounds like they were on their creative A-game once again.

The soundtrack song, titled "The Way He Looks At Me" is an uncomfortable blend of seemingly random noices and piano (check it out at Nine Inch Nails' website, as Consequence of Sound points out). There's no doubt that this one will be playing when something is about to go wrong for good old Ben Affleck, who will play the lead in Fincher's adaptation of Gillian Flynn's 2012 novel. Reznor and Ross also debuted some music from the film score on the Gone Girl website (listen here). It's a little more mellow but just as unnerving as "The Way He Looks At Me."

Previously, Fincher recruited Reznor and Ross for 2010's The Social Network and 2011's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The collaboration on The Social Network led to an Oscar for Best Original Score. The pair has scored a handful of short films since then while Reznor provided music for the Call of Duty: Black Ops II video game and a documentary, according to the musician's IMDb page. Ross worked on 2010's The Book of Eli as well.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the pair talked about the new project. "The movie is about the facade of the good neighbor, the good Christian, the good wife," Reznor explained. "So the notion was to start with music that's attempting to give you a hug."

Gone Girl is out Oct. 3.
