Detroit rocker Bob Seger will team up with country boy Jason Aldean for the next installment of CMT Crossroads.

According to Country Music Nation, the pair will perform on October 28 and the episode will air later this year. Seger and Aldean will collaborate on their biggest hits while swapping stories and enjoying each other's onstage company, as is tradition for the show.

Seger recently stopped by Aldean's Concert for a Cure in Detroit and the musicians posed for a picture backstage. "One of my idols came out to the show last nite," Fanboy Aldean posted on Instagram with the picture. "The one and only Mr. Bob Seger. #turnthepage #detroit #concertforthecure #bobseger."

CMT Crossroads first aired in 2002 with Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello sharing the stage. Since then, the show has coupled Ryan Adams with Elton John, Sugarland with Bon Jovi, Zac Brown Band with Jimmy Buffett, and The Band Perry with Fall Out Boy. On its most previous episode, Lee Ann Womack joined John Legend for a few tunes.

Aldean recently expanded his hugely popular Burn It Down tour, adding 23 cities for the 2015 extension. "The tour is doing well, so you want to expand it and hit some cities that you didn't hit on the first leg of it — that's the biggest thing," Aldean told Rolling Stone Country. "Every year you try to hit the major markets, for the most part. We were able to do that, but there were a few places we weren't able to hit on this run."

Seger's 17th studio album, Ride Out, was released October 14.
